Senior MuleSoft Developer Portugal

Our client is undertaking a major transformation initiative to migrate from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA. As part of this migration, they are seeking an experienced MuleSoft Integration Architect/Developer to design, build, and implement new integrations between S/4HANA and the existing enterprise applications landscape.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on MuleSoft expertise combined with solid understanding of SAP integration patterns and APIs, ensuring seamless data and process integration across systems during and after the migration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement MuleSoft integrations to connect SAP S/4HANA with internal and external systems (both on-premises and cloud-based).

• Analyze existing integrations with SAP ECC and define strategies for migration or redesign to support S/4HANA.

• Collaborate with SAP functional and technical teams to understand business processes, data models, and integration touchpoints.

• Develop API-led integration architecture (System, Process, Experience layers) using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.

• Ensure all integrations are scalable, secure, and reusable, following enterprise integration standards and best practices.

• Support data transformation, mapping, and orchestration between systems.

• Manage integration testing, troubleshooting, and defect resolution.

• Provide technical documentation, deployment support, and production handover.

• Contribute to establishing integration governance and reusable asset libraries.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in MuleSoft design and development (Mule 4, Anypoint Studio, API Manager, DataWeave).

• Proven experience in SAP integration projects preferably migration from ECC to S/4HANA.

• Strong understanding of API-led connectivity and microservices architecture.

• Experience with integration protocols and formats (REST, SOAP, IDoc, OData, JSON, XML).

• Experience in Anypoint Runtime Manager, CloudHub, API Gateway, and CI/CD pipelines for MuleSoft deployments.

• Familiarity with SAP connectors, RFCs, and BAPIs integration using MuleSoft.

• Working knowledge of data migration and system coexistence strategies during SAP transition phases.

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MuleSoft Certified Developer/Architect certification(s).

• Experience with SAP BTP Integration Suite or SAP PO/PI.

• Knowledge of Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow, or other enterprise systems integrated with SAP.

• Familiarity with DevOps tools (Jenkins, Git, Maven) and CI/CD automation.
