Job Title: Senior Menswear Designer
Role Type: Full Time
Department: Design
Reports to: Head of Creative
Location: Baker Street, London
Salary: Competitive
About the RoleDerek Rose is a luxury British leisurewear brand. We design clothes for people who know exactly how they want to live - and we've spent decades making that easy. Our menswear sits at the heart of the brand, and we're looking for a Senior Menswear Designer to lead it.
Reporting to the Head of Creative, you'll own the design and development of our menswear collections from research through to final sign-off. You'll bring a sharp commercial eye alongside real creative conviction - and you'll be comfortable working in a small, collaborative team where everyone contributes beyond their job title.
What you'll do- Range planning: Work alongside the Head of Creative to plan and review the menswear clothing and accessories range each season - balancing newness with commercial continuity.
- Contribute to buying decisions and range architecture, with a clear understanding of what sells and why.
- Design: Research seasonal themes and build mood boards that set the direction for each collection, informed by market intelligence and a close read of the competitive landscape.
- Lead the design and development of all new menswear styles each season, including accessories.
- Research and develop colour palettes across all menswear collections.
- Create detailed design packs - AI concepts, flat drawings, internals, core measurements, and trims.
- Collaborate with the print designers to build the textiles range for all new styles.
- Use AI design tools including Midjourney and Firefly to concept and communicate designs to the wider team.
- Attend fit sessions, giving clear and constructive feedback to ensure every garment meets our standards before sign-off.
- Share product knowledge and seasonal direction with colleagues across the business.
- Liaise with garment manufacturers, fabric suppliers, and agents throughout the development process.
- Research and source new fabrications each season, with a clear handover to the Sourcing Manager.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers.
- Proven experience leading a menswear collection end-to-end, typically 6-8+ years in a luxury or premium brand.
- Strong technical skills - flat drawing, spec writing, and garment construction knowledge.
- A confident eye for fabric, print, and colour, and an understanding of how these translate commercially.
- Experience in range planning, or working closely with a buying or commercial function.
- Comfortable in fit sessions and able to give clear, constructive feedback.
- A collaborative, low-ego approach - you're happy to help wherever the team needs you, not just where your title says you should.
- Confident using AI design tools to develop and pitch design direction quickly.
- Experience liaising with garment factories and suppliers, with a solid grasp of the development and sampling process.
- A natural awareness of the premium and luxury menswear market.
- Pension contribution
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- Generous staff discount and regular sample sales
- Confidential wellbeing and mental health support
- Social events
