Our client, based in central Manchester, requires a Principal Mechanical Engineer from the Building Services/FM sector. The role will oversee mechanical service contracts & compliance, with an emphasis on Mechanical & Pressure systems maintenance whilst overseeing contractors on site covering Gas, Water, HVAC & compressed systems. It works for the Facilities Division of a multi site organisation that we have dealt with for the last 20 years. This is a permanent role that will pay between £50,000 - 56,535 PAYE + excellent benefits (35 days holidays + 19% pension).

Responsibilities

• Organising contractor site inspections and managing contractors to maintain compliance and SLAs.
• Assist head of department in strategic & operational maintenance of site, including provision of surveys, project management and responsibility for updating mechanical standard requirement documents.
• Ensuring mechanical records, reports, design and installation specifications are maintained in line with current legislation & industry standards.
• Oversee reactive works whilst ensuring all compliance and legal provisions are met.
• Looking after mechanical Risk Assessments, Method statements & organising Safe systems of working/Permits to work.
• Able to produce monthly reports related to ongoing compliance.
• Identify risk areas and monitor to improve mechanical department performance.

Desired Educational Requirements

• Chartered Engineer or Degree level qualification Mechanical Engineering, building services or equivalent discipline.
• IOSH or NEBOSH certification (desirable).
