Due to continued growth, Briggs & Forrester Engineering Services is seeking a talentedSenior Mechanical Estimator to join our Midlands team based in our Coleshill Office, Birmingham. What You'll Be Doing
As a senior member of the team, you'll:
- Take a leading role in the tender process, ensuring deadlines are achieved and estimating duties are provided to the highest standard
- Produce detailed and accurate tender bids and cost plans
- Review and fully interpret tender documentation including Prelims, T&Cs, BREEAM, Fire Strategy, Acoustics, BIM and more
- Attend, present and chair internal and external meetings, and take a proactive role within the team
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients
- Collaborate closely with subcontractors and suppliers - leveraging established partners while identifying and developing new leads
- Ensure M&E abnormals are captured across both disciplines
- Agree strategies for named specialists and 'equal' alternatives within specifications
- Ensure submissions are accurate, competitive and aligned with project requirements
- Comprehensive technical knowledge across all aspects of Mechanical Building Services
- The ability to review, challenge and develop tender design information and strategies to provide best value to our clients
- Strong estimating experience and possess a thorough understanding of project costing strategies
- Confidence to lead discussions and influence stakeholders at all levels
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- The ability to work collaboratively while promoting a positive and supportive team culture
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
