Senior Mechanical Engineer - Lights

We are currently working with an exciting automotive company based in Barcelona who are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer - Lights to join their team. The company has strong values centred around sustainability, reducing pollution and innovation.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the end-to-end design and development of vehicle lighting systems, from initial concept through to production release.
• Plan, perform, and document design and production validation testing using simulations, physical modelling, experimental setups, and supplier collaboration.
• Collaborate closely with suppliers throughout the development lifecycle, incorporating scalable manufacturing considerations to meet quality, timing, and cost objectives.
• Manage the Bill of Materials (BOM), ensuring cost-efficiency is maintained across all components and development stages.
• Contribute actively to the design and development of in-house test jigs and validation procedures.
• Work cross-functionally with the broader team to engineer, test, and deliver premium electric vehicles that meet regulatory standards, budget constraints, and timeline targets.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• A strong passion for delivering products of the highest quality.
• A results-driven mindset with a strong sense of urgency and ownership.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven track record of working effectively both independently and within cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams.
• Thrive in dynamic, fast-paced, and highly innovative environments such as start-ups or advanced tech companies.
• Hold yourself and your team to exceptionally high standards.
• Continuously seek opportunities to enhance product performance, quality, and cost-efficiency.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; fluency in English is essential.
