Senior Legal Counsel - London

Energean plc is seeking an experienced lawyer for the role of Senior Legal Counsel, based in London. This UK qualified, corporate/energy lawyer will join our UK legal team, working closely with, and reporting to, the Group General Counsel, and supporting our dynamic and fast paced business.

Key Accountabilities

• Provide advice on a wide range of legal matters affecting the business operations, including corporate, commercial and M&A transactions, and asset/JV management aspects.
• Work closely with the Group General Counsel and other members of our UK and international legal team to support business growth and operations.
• Provide assistance on litigation and arbitration proceedings, including financing transactions, as they arise.
• Work with and support our legal teams globally when required.
• Support key internal stakeholders in connection with all legal matters.
• Liaise with external lawyers and other advisers to ensure business objectives are met efficiently and comprehensively.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Extensive UK post qualification experience in private practice and/or in house in a corporate/transactional and/or energy environment.
• Minimum of 5 years PQE.
• Experience working on commercial projects and asset/JV management experience.
• Previous in house experience in the industry is desirable but not essential.
• Experience with the implementation and/or use of legal operations is desirable but not essential.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Positive, independent and proactive approach; commercially focused; self motivated and practical.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Helpful, flexible and adaptable to evolving business needs.
