Main Duties

The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a highly specialized pharmacy service to patients. They will be expected to provide expertise to nursing and medical staff (within the Trust and externally) on the management of patients. They will be expected to integrate with the relevant clinical teams to ensure efficient transfer of clinical and medicines management issues. They will take overarching responsibility for all pharmacy research and audit projects within the service and be responsible for overseeing training including undergraduate placements, trainee pharmacists, and diploma including independent prescribing. The successful post holder must have previous relevant clinical experience, have experience of using electronic prescribing systems, and understand the complexities of delivering a pharmacy service. They must also have previous leadership and management experience to have oversight of the day-to-day running of the service and to be able to resolve any operational issues.
