About the role

We seek an experienced professional to support the origination and management of our growing Commercial Real Estate Lending business, investing across the UK and Europe, handling private credit mandates mainly in insurance and pensions, along with internal funds and co-investments with large institutional investors. The role involves growing the business and managing an extensive portfolio of investments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with borrowers, brokers, originators, and advisers. Understand our investment criteria and screen transactions accordingly.
• Prepare credit analyses, including credit ratings and ESG risk profiles.
• Structure transactions with appropriate financial and other covenants.
• Prepare and present investment papers for committees.
• Discuss transactions, pipelines, outlook, and performance with clients.
• Manage transactions from inception to completion and ongoing maintenance.
• Support sales and market efforts through client meetings, conferences, and market materials.
• Assist with reporting and governance requirements.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience in fixed-rate insurance lending, with strong Solvency II, credit ratings, and insurance regulation knowledge.
• Proven track record of originating senior lending deals across Europe, including the UK.
• Broad origination network.
• Ability to lead transactions through their full lifecycle.
• Strong risk analysis and underwriting skills.
• Experience in mentoring early and mid-career colleagues.
