Key ResponsibilitiesCloud and Infrastructure Management- Administer and optimise Azure infrastructure, including Virtual Machines, Azure Active Directory, Virtual Networks, App Services, and storage solutions.
- Manage and monitor Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments, ensuring performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Oversee domain services (Active Directory, DNS) and synchronization with Microsoft Entra ID.
- Implement and maintain Azure backup and disaster recovery strategies.
- Maintain and enhance the performance of our SQL Server environments (both Azure-hosted and legacy on-prem).
- Support and administer Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Microsoft Teams.
- Implement governance, security, and compliance policies within the Microsoft 365 environment.
- Manage user identities, access, and licenses within Microsoft Entra (Azure AD).
- Contribute to Power Automate or PowerShell-based automation where appropriate.
- Configure and maintain our Fortinet stack (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, and FortiAP) across multiple sites.
- Manage VLANs, VPNs, SD-WAN, and security policies within the FortiGate ecosystem.
- Monitor network performance and respond proactively to alerts or incidents.
- Ensure network security best practices and coordinate regular firmware and policy updates.
- Collaborate with internal teams and developers on the integration of Azure App Services and containerised applications.
- Lead infrastructure components of IT and digital transformation projects.
- Provide documentation, change control, and technical guidance for new initiatives.
- Act as the final escalation point for complex technical issues.
- Provide mentoring and training to junior IT staff and apprentices.
- Maintain IT standards, policies, and documentation.
- Liaise with vendors and partners to maintain service reliability and performance.
- Significant experience in IT infrastructure roles, including at least 2 years with Azure administration.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure, including networking, compute, storage, and identity services.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 administration and Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop, Intune, and Endpoint Manager.
- Solid networking knowledge (TCP / IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, VPN).
- Hands-on experience with Fortinet firewalls, switches, and access points.
- Knowledge of PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Familiarity with SQL Server management and Azure SQL.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and compliance frameworks.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) - required or working towards.
- Fortinet NSE 4 or above certification.
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, App Services, or containerized environments (Docker / Kubernetes).
- Exposure to Intune device management and conditional access policies.
- ITIL Foundation certification.
- Analytical mindset and proactive problem-solver.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical staff.
- Excellent time management and prioritisation.
- Passion for continuous learning and adopting new technologies.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
