LAW Absolute is working with a local authority based in Berkshire who are seeking a Senior Housing Lawyer for an initial period of three months.
OverviewThe successful Senior Housing Lawyer will lead on complex housing casework, including disrepair, possession, homelessness, and governance matters, while providing high quality advice that supports lawful and timely decision making across the council. In this role you will influence policy, shape service improvements, and play a key role in delivering positive outcomes for residents.
Responsibilities- Lead on complex housing casework, including disrepair, possession, homelessness, and governance matters.
- Supervise the team of 2 lawyers in the absence of the Principal Lawyer.
- Attend the council offices for court days, team meetings and on an as and when needed basis.
- Influence policy, shape service improvements, and deliver positive outcomes for residents.
- Proactive lawyer with strong advocacy skills.
- Passion for public service.
- Previous experience working as a housing lawyer.
- Current practising certificate.
- Previous local government experience is highly advantageous.
This is a full time position - 37 hours per week for three months initially. Pay rate on offer is between £60-65 per hour umbrella or PAYE equivalent.
