Join Manor Farm as our Senior Health & Safety Officer and help shape a strong, practical safety culture across our busy food manufacturing site.

The role

Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, you will partner with managers, supervisors, engineering teams and employee safety representatives to identify hazards, strengthen controls and drive compliance. This is a hands on role with real influence across day to day operations.

Working pattern

Sunday day shift, Monday-Wednesday evening shifts and Thursday day shift. Flexibility is required to meet operational needs.

What you'll be doing

• Support operational teams to meet health, safety and welfare requirements.
• Review and update risk assessments, SOPs and safe working practices.
• Carry out inspections and unscheduled audits, track actions and ensure timely close out.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, complete root cause analysis and maintain accurate case records.
• Monitor trends, metrics and KPIs, providing clear updates to the Health & Safety Manager.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness, evacuation drills and fire safety activities.
• Monitor PPE, contractor, workplace transport and behaviour based safety compliance.
• Deliver manual handling training and support site safety communications.
• Promote a positive safety culture through practical coaching, constructive challenge and collaboration.
• Support relevant site systems, including access cards, pallet truck tracking, locker and CCTV management in line with company policies and GDPR.

What you'll bring

• A degree or diploma in environmental health and safety, occupational safety or a related discipline.
• Several years' health and safety experience, ideally within a fast moving manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation, standards and best practice.
• Experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, audits, corrective actions and safety reporting.
• Confident communication and influencing skills, with the ability to coach and constructively challenge at all levels.
• A collaborative, pragmatic and solutions focused approach to change.
• Strong organisation, problem solving, analytical and attention to detail skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
