Senior Hardware Test Engineer Position Overview: A Hardware Engineering opportunity has arisen in a growing, dynamic and collaborative team as a result of a demand for new product designs. The team is situated in our fantastic Cambridge office with a well equipped hardware lab including two environmental chambers. We are looking for a hardware test engineer who can take responsibility for testing new and existing hardware designs with a strong focus on quality, reliability, and security to meet the exacting needs of our customers and security certification requirements.The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a track record of working in an electronics laboratory environment and testing embedded electronics designs. Experience working with secure products (especially where formal external accreditation is sought) would be a particular advantage.Hardware Engineering at Entrust comprises Electronic Engineering, High Speed Digital Design, Mechanical Engineering and Thermal Engineering - the full scope of the physical product platform.As the only hardware test engineer for the business, you will support all product development activities across the hardware, software, and production teams, delivering product prototyping requirements and general test equipment needs. Responsibilities: work within an Agile product development framework develop excellent working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders and colleagues hands-on development of product subsystems carry out hardware prototyping and validation activities plan work collaboratively with the whole Engineering team to ensure that dependencies and planning commitments are understood and observed regularly prototype, integrate and demonstrate hardware platforms as part of "system demos" ensure on-going change control, testability and manufacturability of our hardware designs drive continuous improvement and self-development look after the laboratory environment reworking and modifying PCBs executing tests automating testing designing test fixtures and other equipment assessing customer returned products Qualifications: We are looking for candidates who possess: an ability to take the initiative with testing of new and existing hardware designs knowledge of embedded electronic designs involving software functionality familiarity with electronic test equipmentIt is expected that the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate relevant experience in some of the following areas: IPC qualifications Surface mount rework Python scripting Environmental testing Test fixture design Basic Qualifications: Vocational qualification, Apprenticeship or Degree qualified, or equivalent, in a relevant technical subject, e.g. Electronic Engineering.
