Part-time (21 or 28 hours per week) Permanent
Salary:

  • National (Remote): £22,079 (21 hrs) or £29,439 (28 hrs) per annum (pro rata)

  • London Hybrid: £24,225 (21 hrs) or £32,300 (28 hrs) per annum (pro rata)

About the Role

We are working with a prestigious professional membership organisation who are seeking a Senior Governance Officer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a governance professional who is organised, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting good governance practices in a national membership body.

You will provide high-quality governance support to the organisation's most senior representative body, coordinating meetings, ensuring compliance with key policies, and driving forward initiatives that increase transparency, engagement, and diversity at the highest levels of member representation.

This role offers the chance to work closely with elected members, senior stakeholders, and colleagues across events, communications, and marketing teams, supporting activities such as annual elections, hustings, onboarding, inductions, and training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate governance meetings and support the work of senior representative committees.

  • Promote effective communication with elected members and stakeholders on governance matters.

  • Support compliance with governance policies, including declarations of interest.

  • Develop and deliver a communications and engagement plan to raise awareness of governance among members.

  • Support the delivery of annual elections, hustings, and induction programmes.

  • Work collaboratively across teams to enhance member engagement with governance and representation.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience).

  • Part-qualified or willing to work towards Chartered Governance Institute (CGI) or equivalent.

  • Experienced in managing formal meetings and governance processes.

  • A confident communicator with strong writing and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using digital and CRM systems.

  • Flexible, with the ability to work on occasional Saturdays (Council meetings) and some evenings for events.
