Introduction to the team:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Commercial Finance team supporting the TAAP division of Expedia Private Label Solutions. TAAP (Travel Agency Affiliate Program) is Expedia's online booking tool that serves thousands of travel advisors across the world. Significant investment has recently been made into multiple product launches and enhancements in TAAP, resulting in a truly exciting period of high growth for the division.
This is a critical role, reporting to the Director of Commercial Finance and providing daily support to the Senior Manager, Commercial Finance.
The successful candidate will be a key business partner to the regional sales teams located in AMER, EMEA and APAC, providing key insights and helping the team to unlock a range of commercial opportunities. The role requires someone who is productive, proactive, influential and dynamic with the ability to add significant value across the business!
In this role, you will:
- Prepare financial models, review and track short-term & long-term incentives and key partner deals; make recommendations to the sales team and assist with multiple rounds of negotiations
- Review and approve Deferred Payment credit limit requests weekly
- Support the review, approval and reporting on promotional incentives weekly
- Produce trading and profitability reports, analyze performance, highlight key trends and provide insights
- Produce detailed quarterly forecasts for bookings, commissions, sales costs and marketing spend
- Calculate incentive payments annually and ad-hoc as needed
- Use BI tools to improve and standardize reporting to Sales & wider EPS teams to drive greater accountability and insight
- Support TAAP Marketing & Loyalty teams through budget management, sizing business opportunities, analyzing and making recommendations on various campaigns
- Foster highly collaborative relationships across TAAP and support the wider finance team to meet key deliverables as necessary
- Perform ad-hoc analysis to support regional and global growth initiatives
Experience and Qualifications:
- 5+ years work experience in a similar analytical role
- Bachelors degree, 2:1 or above (or equivalent) and strong academic background
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commercial Finance experience with proven ability to build complex models for both ongoing analysis and financial projections
- Very strong Excel financial modelling skills, extensive experience working with and deriving insights from large data sets
- Knowledge of BI tools (e.g Looker, Tableau) and data extraction via SQL will be highly beneficial
- Proven ability to present data & insights in a visually compelling format to finance and non-finance audiences
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team; take ownership of tasks & projects and drive them to completion while effectively prioritizing
- Solid business acumen and strong commercial instincts; ability to influence and effectively work with stakeholders
- Self-starter who is extremely organized, has excellent attention to detail and a proactive 'can-do' attitude
- Someone who thrives in large, global, fast paced organizations
