Senior Family Solicitor

Job Title: Head of Family
Location: Liverpool
Salary: Up to £60,000 + Bonus
Hybrid Working

A standout opportunity has arisen for an experienced and ambitious Family Law Solicitor to step into a Head of Department role within a well-regarded and growing practice.

The Role:

• Lead and manage the Family Law department, ensuring delivery of high-quality legal services.
• Oversee a varied caseload, to include:
  • Divorce & separation
  • Financial remedy
  • Children Act matters (including parental disputes and arrangements)
  • Domestic abuse and injunctions
  • Care proceedings
• Act as supervisor for legal aid work (panel membership required).
• Mentor and develop junior lawyers and support staff.
• Work closely with senior management to set and deliver departmental strategy.
• Drive business development, networking, and marketing activity to grow the department's profile.
• Appear in court as an advocate where appropriate.

Requirements:

• 6+ years PQE in Family Law, with substantial experience in both private and legal aid matters.
• Experience in a senior, supervisory, or leadership role within a family department.
• Panel membership essential (to meet legal aid supervision requirements).
• Strong background in handling complex financial and children matters.
• A natural leader with the ability to inspire and develop others.
• Excellent client care and communication skills.
• Commercial awareness and a strategic mindset.
