Senior Executive Engineer

County Kildare is located in the mid-east region of Ireland in the province of Leinster and is one of twelve Local Authorities comprising the Eastern and Midlands Region. It has a population of 247,774 (2022 Census) which is one of the fasted growing counties in Ireland over the past 20 years at a rate of 11% in comparison to the national growth rate of 8%. The principal towns are Naas, Newbridge, Celbridge, Leixlip, Maynooth, Athy, Kildare, Clane, Kilcock, Sallins and Monasterevin.

Strategically, the future planning and economic development of the county is guided and informed by the Eastern Midlands Regional Assembly's Regional Spatial and Economic Strategy (RSES). The towns of Maynooth, Leixlip, Celbridge and Kilcock are located within the Metropolitan Area Strategic Plan (MASP) area.

Job Summary/Description:

The Senior Executive Engineer will be required to lead a team or teams and to provide technical and managerial support across all local authority service areas and to liaise with external agencies and stakeholders. They may deputise for the Senior Engineer Senior Executive Engineers are appointed to a wide variety of roles across the Council. The role can include responsibility for the management and successful delivery of a range of projects; effective delivery of a range of services and responsibility for the management and supervision of assigned staff.
