This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Estimator to join a long established, highly reputable construction business delivering high quality projects across the Oxford area.

Are you an experienced Estimator looking to take full ownership of tenders within a well respected regional contractor?

Do you want to work on a variety of high quality refurbishment and new build projects, particularly within historic and educational environments?

This well established construction business has been operating for over a century, delivering projects across private schools, universities, and heritage buildings. With a strong reputation locally and a loyal client base, the company is focused on maintaining quality, continuing steady growth, and preserving its close knit, non corporate culture.

In this role, you will take full responsibility for managing tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission. You will work autonomously, lead the estimating function, liaise with subcontractors, attend site visits, and support the wider team. You will also play a key role in mentoring a junior estimator and helping shape the department moving forward.

With that, the ideal candidate will have strong UK construction estimating experience, be confident managing tenders independently, and have a proactive, self sufficient approach.

• Managing tenders from enquiry through to submission
• Visiting sites and assessing project requirements
• Liaising with subcontractors and issuing enquiries
• Preparing cost plans, pricing works, and reviewing prelims
• Managing multiple tenders simultaneously
• Supporting and mentoring a Junior Estimator
• Working predominantly office based with occasional site visits

• Strong UK construction estimating experience
• Proven ability to manage tenders independently
• Strong knowledge of building regulations and procurement routes
• Experience across a variety of construction projects
• Strong Excel skills
• Self motivated and able to work autonomously
• Commutable distance from Oxford
