Job Description
Overview

This role is responsible for preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction and civil engineering tenders. Working closely with bid teams and technical specialists, the Senior Estimator develops competitive pricing solutions, supports early contractor involvement projects, and contributes to successful tender submissions through careful analysis of labour, plant, materials, and subcontractor costs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for tenders, including labour, plant, materials, subcontractors and preliminaries.
  • Work collaboratively with Bid Managers, planners and procurement teams to develop competitive pricing strategies.
  • Assess alternative design options and provide cost advice to support the most efficient project solutions.
  • Review supplier and subcontractor quotations, ensuring compliance and value for money.
  • Support tender settlement meetings and prepare final pricing documentation for submission.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in Senior Estimating role within Nuclear
  • Experience liaising with Senior Managers, Directors, Engineers and major Stakeholders
  • Ability to read Engineering drawings highly desirable
  • Experience working to highly regulated standards in high pressure projects

Location: Whitehaven
Permanent: Full Time, 37.5 hrs
Salary: £80k - £85k (dependent on experience) + £6k Car Allowance
