Senior Engineering Manager

About the Role

Senior Engineering Manager leading a portfolio of teams ( people) at Monzo. Responsible for building new squads, managing Tech Leads, Senior Engineers and Engineering Managers, and ensuring technical and delivery outcomes of the area. Focus on creating an inclusive environment that helps teams deliver high quality work.

• Delivery and Execution: Accountable for delivery across squads, collaborating with Technical Leads and Product Managers.
• Engineering & Operational Excellence: Foster a high bar for engineering excellence, set expectations and measure performance.
• People Leadership: Directly manage 2 3 Engineering Managers and lead an organisation of 20 engineers, providing coaching, career development and regular feedback.
• Technical Influence: Partner with senior engineers to drive technical initiatives that improve practices.
• Stakeholder Relationships: Build strong relationships with other teams and create a focus space for engineers.
• Organisational Impact: Collaborate with the broader engineering organisation to contribute to company wide practices and standards.

Work environment

Our main tech hub is in London, but engineers live all across the UK. We value meeting in person but there's no pressure to come into the office; we support travel costs if you're outside London.
