Senior Engineer

A leading construction company is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join their team on a major school construction project in Killarney, Kerry. This is a hands on, site focused role, ideal for an engineer with strong expertise in structural and civil engineering, capable of managing complex construction works and ensuring the successful delivery of a high value educational facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering and technical management of the school construction project
• Oversee structural and civil elements of the project, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with design specifications
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor project progress, schedules, and budgets
• Manage site teams, subcontractors, and liaise with project managers, consultants, and clients
• Implement and enforce strict health, safety, and environmental protocols on site
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and site staff
• Conduct regular site inspections, proactively identifying issues and implementing solutions
• Ensure all work complies with relevant building codes, regulations, and company standards

Requirements

• Minimum 4-5 years' experience in civil or structural engineering, preferably with experience in educational or large scale building projects
• Strong understanding of construction techniques, project management, and site coordination
• Ability to lead on site teams and make informed engineering decisions independently
• Excellent communication, problem solving, and analytical skills
• Relevant degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent
• Valid construction certifications (CSCS/SafePass) and knowledge of Irish building regulations
