Job Description
Embedded System Engineer Location:Tysons Corner, VA Type:Full-Time (Must be U.S. citizen) Salary:Competitive based on experience + Healthcare Plan + Stock Options (Once in a lifetime chance) The Company:

This is a pioneering deep-tech startup that has achieved something no one else has managed in the field of wireless communications, enabling reliable, low-latency data transfer through environments previously thought to be impossible.

You'll be joining at a pivotal moment, working on world-first applications, solving challenging problems, and directly influencing the company's future direction.

Their proprietary technology has drawn the attention of top-tier defence, industrial, and research organisations worldwide. With multiple granted patents and dozens more pending, their solutions are already proving mission-critical in industries ranging from defence and energy to exploration and emergency response.

The Role:

We're looking for a hands-on, inventive, Embedded Systems Engineer who thrives in a fast-changing startup environment, who is looking for an opportunity to use all of their knowledge to create a true state-of-the-art, never seen-before technology.

You'll take off-the-shelf components (think Raspberry Pi, COTS PCBs) and turn them into high-performance systems capable of pushing the limits of RF communications.

This is a very unique opportunity where you'll prototype, solder, test, and sometimes hop on a plane to test your work in some of the world's most extreme and fascinating environments.

What You'll Do:
  • Build and optimise embedded systems using COTS hardware (e.g., Raspberry Pi).
  • Develop, adapt, and integrate Python-based monitoring and control systems.
  • Conduct RF performance testing (bit rate, error rate, SNR) using lab and field equipment.
  • Prototype and modify hardware - from soldering to 3D printing to CNC machining.
  • Work with engineering and operations teams to deliver solutions quickly and iteratively.
  • Participate in occasional field testing and demonstrations for clients and partners
Your Background:
  • Strong Python & Linux development skills.
  • Solid RF knowledge - enough to test, measure, and interpret performance data.
  • Embedded systems experience, ideally with Raspberry Pi or similar platforms.
  • Hands-on prototyping skills (soldering, hardware integration).
  • Problem-solving mindset - proactive, resourceful, and not afraid to challenge ideas.
  • Comfort with startup culture - adaptable, resilient, and able to work in a dynamic environment.

If you're passionate about wireless communications and embedded systems, this could be an opportunity for you!
