Job Description

Design Engineer / Senior Design Engineer / Electrical Design Engineer required for a leading provider of engineering solutions.

The successful Design Engineer / Senor Design Engineer / Electrical Design Engineer will lead the design, development, and commissioning of automated systems, including PLC/SCADA, instrumentation, and control solutions. Ensure compliance with international standards and support project delivery from design to handover.

This is a hybrid role the successful Design Engineer / Senior Design Engineer / Electrical Design Engineer should expect to be in the office near Guildford 3 days a week.

Package:

  • £60,000-£65,000 per year depending on experience
  • 75 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Hybrid working - 3 days a week in Guildford
  • Pension Scheme

Design Engineer / Senior Design Engineer / Electrical Design Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development and commissioning of automated control systems
  • Develop electrical, instrumentation, and control systems for diverse projects
  • Design and program PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems including simulation and testing
  • Prepare technical documentation and select compliant field instrumentation and safety devices
  • Ensure adherence to international standards (IEC, BS, EN, ATEX, SIL) and support site commissioning and handover

Design Engineer / Senior Design Engineer / Electrical Design Engineer Requirements:

  • Background in EC&I engineering, including design, controls, or commissioning
  • Proven experience in industrial automation and process control systems
  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation, panel design, and hazardous area equipment
  • Proficient in electrical design tools (e.g. EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical)
  • Familiar with industry standards and able to commute to Guildford 3 days a week.
