Reporting to the VP EMEA Marketing and an active member of the Marketing and Consumer Leadership Teams, this role is responsible for the direction, development, and execution of strategic plans to maximize profitable growth for the region. This role owns the overall Innovation Long Term Plan (LTP) and annual budget, the Regional Strategic Long-term Planning Process, regionally scoped strategic projects across LTP Growth Platforms, the strategic management of regional consumer resources, and oversees the execution of growth and cost-out projects through the commercialisation team. The role is also a key people leader, accountable for the development, engagement, and management of 20 team members in the market and contributing to overall succession planning for EMEA Marketing.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Drive the regional consumer Innovation pipeline to sufficiency, supporting brand equity choices and delivering the annual innovation budget target through owned projects and shaping local-market led projects.
  2. Develop comprehensive Brand, Category, and Business growth platforms to deliver sales, share, and profitability ambitions in the LTP. Present to regional and global leadership; develop and lead transformational business change projects as required.
  3. Lead the team to identify the regional consumer targets for global brands. Use insights to develop breakthrough ideas that deliver the business objectives and delight our target consumer.
  4. Generate projects that enable technical advantage and collaborate with the global peer set to create differentiation sites for technical advantage.
  5. Prioritize learning plans to ensure initiatives connect to consumer needs.
  6. Oversee the development, testing, and optimization of consumer and shopper-based concepts. Size business opportunities to advance the highest potential pipeline.
  7. Oversee and shape governance over new product business cases, financial forecasting, supply chain, pricing, P&L structure, and recommended in-market execution.
  8. Lead the PMR and Stage Gate (via Commercialisation) processes to manage regional resources and make recommendations at a project and pipeline level to business segment leadership for decisions.
  9. Oversee the execution of growth and cost-out projects through the commercialisation team.
  10. Provide direction to key cross-functional partners such as research, sales, product development, manufacturing, quality, finance, legal, and external resources.
  11. Influence the trajectory of the Department; develop and engage the team including coaching and succession planning.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  1. Strong learning agility, supported by a Degree qualification ideally in Marketing or a related discipline.
  2. Strong industry experience with relevant skills and results delivery in consumer packaged goods.
  3. People leadership with a track record of developing, building, and engaging effective teams.
  4. Strong leadership in strategic thinking, communication, and influencing in matrixed organizations.
  5. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills supported through exposure to key areas including Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain, as well as external agency management.
  6. Strong analytical and change leadership experience with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  7. Expert-level in functional Marketing skills - Strategy, New product development, and P&L management.
  8. Demonstrated ability to translate consumer insight into sellable product concepts.
