This is a key leadership role in ourDigital Innovation Team at Westmorland and Furness Council,providing senior-level expertise in digital service design. As wecontinue to transform how we deliver services to our communities,this role will be central in helping us design better, moreaccessible, and more efficient digital experiences.
As Senior Digital Service Design Officer,you'll lead the Digital Service Design function, managing a teamand overseeing the development and delivery of digital projectsthat support our Customer and Digital Programme. You'll workclosely with services across the Council to identify challenges,redesign processes, and create end-to-end solutions that put thecustomer at the centre.
From embedding agile practices to buildinga network of internal "Citizen Developers", you'll have theopportunity to shape how digital change happens - and ensure itdelivers real benefits for our residents and staff.
Who we arelooking for
We're looking for someone with significantexperience of managing digital transformation in a complexorganisation, ideally with a strong track record in user-centreddesign and service improvement. You'll be confident in leadingprojects and people, and comfortable influencing at all levels,including in political and multi-stakeholder environments.
You'll bring expertise in agile ways ofworking, process mapping, and performance analysis, alongsideexcellent communication and leadership skills. You'll be able tochallenge existing practice constructively, promote innovation,and build strong relationships across services.
