About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Diagnostic Technician / Master Technician to join our independent prestige and performance vehicle business in Fareham.

This is not a standard technician role. They are not looking for a basic service or fast fit technician. Instead, they need a highly skilled individual with strong diagnostic expertise, the ability to work independently, and the confidence to take on a leadership role within a busy workshop.

Key Responsibilities

• Advanced diagnostics and complex fault finding
• Mechanical repairs and vehicle maintenance
• Use of live data, wiring diagrams, and electrical testing
• Road testing and vehicle preparation
• Warranty work and quality control checks
• Supporting and guiding other technicians
• Ensuring efficient workflow and job progression within the workshop

Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who fits one of the following backgrounds:

• Senior Diagnostic Technician
• Master Technician
• Workshop Foreman / Working Foreman
• Highly skilled independent specialist technician

Essential Skills & Experience

Proven diagnostic ability beyond basic fault code reading

• Strong understanding of:
  • Live data interpretation
  • Wiring diagrams
  • Electrical diagnostics
  • Structured fault finding processes
• Ability to work independently without constant supervision
• Experience supporting or mentoring other technicians
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability for work

Desirable Experience

• Prestige, performance, or German vehicle experience
• Background in specialist independent workshops
