Oliver James is seeking an experienced Senior Developer to join a market-leading global re-insurer. This role sits within the actuarial systems function, working closely with technical teams across multiple regions to enhance modelling capability, streamline processes, and deliver innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, maintain, and improve actuarial modelling tools to ensure consistency and efficiency across the business.
Translate business requirements into technical specifications, implementing model changes and carrying out rigorous testing.
Develop strong working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, both actuarial and non-actuarial.
Produce and maintain clear documentation and guidance materials.
Utilise advanced coding skills (e.g., C++, Python, VBA) to optimise model performance and automation.
Contribute to peer review processes and drive continuous improvement in model governance.

Experience Required:
Part or fully qualified actuary with relevant experience in life insurance or reinsurance.
Proficient in coding, with experience in at least one of C++, Python, or VBA.
Exposure to actuarial modelling platforms such as MoSes, Tyche, or equivalent.
Knowledge of life, critical illness, income protection, and annuity/longevity products is advantageous.
Strong Excel skills and excellent communication abilities.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines.
Familiarity with Agile ways of working would be beneficial.
