About the role We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join our Console team and take ownership of the Axiom user experience. This is a unique opportunity to define and build our design system from the ground up, fundamentally shaping how thousands of developers interact with their data every day. You'll be the critical bridge between design and engineering, translating ambitious mockups into a living, breathing application. You'll work hand-in-hand with our Design Lead to establish a new standard for craft and quality, and you'll build the reusable components and patterns that enable the entire engineering team to ship beautiful, consistent UI at high velocity. As a Senior Design Engineer, you will:

• Own and evolve our design system. You will lead the technical design, development, and rollout of our in-house UI library, making it easier and faster to build high-quality experiences.
• Ship with exceptional craft. You'll work on new features from end to end, with a laser focus on the UI details, polish, and interaction patterns that separate good products from great ones.
• Collaborate and elevate. You will partner closely with product and design to iterate on ideas, and mentor other engineers to raise the collective quality bar of the team.
• Transform our user experience. You'll audit our existing application, identify areas for improvement, and lead the charge in creating a more polished, intuitive, and delightful Console.

This is a great fit if you

• Are obsessed with UI craft. You measure the quality of your work by the end-user experience and believe that small details make a huge difference. Tweaking drop-shadows and perfecting animations isn't a chore; it's what you love to do.
• Have deep experience building design systems. You've worked on modern, collaborative web applications and are an expert in React, component-based architecture, and the trade-offs involved in creating a scalable UI library.
• Thrive on bridging design and code. You are excited about iterating on interface design in code vs. building to a rigid spec. You enjoy filling in the gaps and solving the complex interaction challenges that come with building a best-in-class application.

• Expect a fully-formed design system to be handed to you. The challenge and opportunity here is to build it.

Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) Global (UTC-3 preferred)

Axiom's mission is to empower developers to get the best insights into their data, as fast as possible. We are a remote-first and globally distributed team building a cloud native, serverless data analytics platform. Axiom completely changes the way in which developers and organizations think about their data: they can now send unlimited data with cost-effective storage and lightning-fast querying.

As a Site Reliability Engineer at Axiom, you will be pivotal in upholding our promise of superior reliability and performance to our customers. Collaborating with backend engineers and product teams, you will emphasize creating and operating scalable and reliable systems. Axiom's emphasis on SREs revolves around automating, measuring, and continuously improving the reliability and efficiency of our systems.

Your primary responsibilities:

• Engineer and maintain a robust, secure, and scalable infrastructure for Axiom Cloud.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define and refine service level objectives.
• Contribute to disaster recovery planning, capacity engineering, performance analysis, and system tuning.
• Foster best practices for code deployments, aiding in the education of the broader development team.
• Roll out tooling and solutions that improve system reliability and reduce manual toil.
• Address and remediate service incidents and contribute to postmortems and root cause analyses.
• Foster a culture of monitoring, alerting, and observability across the organization.

You are an ideal candidate if:

• You have over two years of experience in a reliability-focused engineering environment.
• You're familiar with AWS tools and technologies.
• You have hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Amazon EKS.
• You understand infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform/Pulumi.
• You possess strong networking knowledge and are adept with Linux systems.
• Familiarity with CI platforms like GitHub Actions, GitLab, CircleCI or others.
• You can efficiently use LLMs.
• Experience with monitoring, alerting, and observability tools.

Bonus skills and experiences:

• Proven track record of maintaining production systems at scale.
• A software engineering background with expertise in Golang.
