As Senior Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for the effective delivery of new products, changes and developments within our key service areas. You will achieve this by working as part of a management team that supports four multi-disciplinary squads and partners with TechOps functions in the same group. You will work in an agile, self-organising way within a framework reflecting digital governance and the product life cycle.
Our group is aligned to business services and as such you will ensure the digital service has the capacity and capabilities to deliver the service roadmap. You will work closely with and coordinate activities with the Head of Product, Senior Product Manager, Senior Business Analyst, Solution Architect and TechOps managers, business services, suppliers and the users. Across these activities you will identify and manage risks and dependencies, collaborating with stakeholders and managing external supplier contracts and budgets to maximise value and ensure high quality service provision.
This role requires a strong emphasis on building relationships, allying with business service leads and fostering a collaborative environment within the group. You will be a key member of the Delivery Community of Practice, supporting colleagues and developing our delivery discipline. You will exemplify delivery management in a product setting for your team. You will be a trusted partner for service area heads, coaching and improving practices to support the delivery of the service roadmap.
You will have a passion for agile methodologies, with a proven track record of successfully implementing agile practices in a complex environment. You will seek out standardisation, reduce waste, control deliveries and report consistently to peers, management and governance. You will have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to deliver to the highest standards.
In this recruitment round, we are seeking one Senior Delivery Manager to work within the digital group which spans the business services for People & Culture, Finance & Legal, Estates, Accommodation, Catering and Retail operations. We welcome applications from experienced Senior Project/Programme Managers (with sufficient Product/Agile/Scrum experience) who want to work for an organisation that is committed to social purpose and is growing to face new opportunities and challenges.
Experience
- Experience of agile delivery across a large, complex enterprise environment, driving large and complex change initiatives through to completion, fully transitioning and embedding change into operational teams
- Extensive senior level stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration, and experience of working with external partners/suppliers
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a track record of managing teams, coaching, and mentoring team members, and creating a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
- Strong budget (£500k+) and risk management
- Relevant Agile Practitioner or MSP Practitioner certifications
