This role helps people attending Holy name Day Centre by leading a caring, supportive team and ensuring they receive safe, person-centred support that meets their individual needs. You'll work closely with Day Centre assistants and the management team to keep services running well each day. - Help plan and deliver meaningful activities that support people's independence and wellbeing
- Build positive relationships with individuals, families and partners to support safe, consistent care

In this role, you'll be trusted to support people attending Holy name Day Centre by leading care staff and helping create a safe and welcoming place where individuals can thrive.
You'll work closely with Day Centre assistants, the Manager and Deputy to keep daily services running smoothly. Your work will help people maintain their wellbeing, independence and dignity through personalised support and meaningful activities. You'll also play a key part in planning care, guiding colleagues and supporting a positive team culture.
What you'll do:
- Lead and supervise care staff to deliver kind, person-centred support
- Help plan and implement personalised care plans that meet individual needs
- Provide direct care and monitor people's physical and emotional wellbeing
- Report any changes to the appropriate professionals to support safe care
- Work alongside the activity coordinator to help plan and deliver engaging activities
- Experience supporting people in a care, community or similar setting
- Confidence leading or coordinating a small team
- Good communication skills and a calm, respectful approach
- Ability to stay organised and follow care plans safely
- You might have worked in care, education or community roles, and we will support you to build skills

Person Specification Qualifications Essential- NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care or equivalent level of knowledge and skills
- First aid at Work
- Basic Food Hygiene
- Working towards (OR Willingness to) NVQ level 4
- Demonstrate the understanding of the role of the Senior Day centre assistant.
- Understanding of medication techniques and procedures
- Working knowledge of different feeding techniques
- Working knowledge of supervision /appraisal techniques/procedures
- Working knowledge of admission/discharge process
- Caring for older people.
- Ageing process.
- Multi-disciplinary working
- Experience of leading, motivating and working as part of a team
- Multi-Disciplinary team working
- Demonstrable experience working with specific client groups. E.g.; physical disability, memory impairment, injury/illness
