Senior Database Engineer - Sybase (Sybase ASE, IQ & Rep)

A leading financial organisation are looking for a Senior DBA to join their team,

• Seeking a hands-on DBA Lead to guide a small database administration team and take ownership of a diverse database environment.

• Responsible for overseeing the setup, maintenance, and daily operation of multiple database platforms.

• The database landscape includes Sybase, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server technologies.

• Ideal for an experienced DBA Team Lead supporting a mid-sized organization.

• Provides technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to DBA team members.

• Defines and communicates the database strategy, ensuring successful execution by the team.

• Demonstrated experience working within Agile delivery environments is required.

• Strong expertise in Scripting languages, automation techniques, and tooling.

• Must be capable of identifying inefficiencies, manual processes, and recurring issues, then replacing them with DevOps-driven automation following best practices.

• Participation in a rotational weekend and out-of-hours support schedule is required.

• Strong hands-on experience with Sybase (ASE, IQ, and Replication) and Microsoft SQL Server is mandatory.

• Oracle database exposure is highly desirable, along with familiarity with open-source database technologies.
