A leading global finance company is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to take ownership of machine learning models and Business Intelligence initiatives within its SME platform. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including data engineers, data analysts, and software engineers to drive data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

• Analyse multiple data sources to deliver data-driven, actionable insights for small and medium-sized enterprises across a global financial network
• Develop sophisticated multivariate models and analytical solutions (eg dashboards, machine learning models) using advanced statistical and data science techniques
• Operate as a self-starter, working independently with ambiguous requirements and proactively identifying opportunities for insight generation
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and business partners to enable data-driven strategies and outcomes

• Demonstrated ability to combine, interrogate, and manipulate large data sets using big data tools (eg Hadoop, Spark)
• Extensive EXPERIENCE using programming languages such as Python (preferred) and data science libraries including Pandas, scikit-learn, and PySpark
• Strong understanding of machine learning model validation metrics (AUC, recall, precision, etc.) and how to apply them based on business objectives
• Working knowledge of version control systems (eg Git)
• Proven ability to translate complex statistical findings into clear, actionable business insights
• EXPERIENCE with BI and data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Domo, or Power BI (highly preferred)
• EXPERIENCE optimising big data ETL pipelines (preferred)
• Background in software engineering is a plus

• EXPERIENCE deploying machine learning models into cloud-based production environments
• Hands-on EXPERIENCE with Databricks
• EXPERIENCE applying Generative AI in commercial or enterprise settings
• Background within the financial services industry
• Strong software engineering foundations, with an emphasis on code quality, version control, and testing to build robust, scalable solutions
