Job Title: Senior Data Analyst
Salary: £35,200 - £45,700
Location: Cambridge, Hybrid (2 days per week working from the office are expected)
Contract: Permanent, Full Time (35 hours per week)

We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst with a passion for working with data and exceptional numerical skills to join the Assessment Measurement Department at Cambridge Assessment English.

About the roleAs a Senior Data Analyst, you will provide data analysis and psychometric support for a variety of English language tests. You will be responsible for evaluating test data and designing and producing statistical reports on a demanding schedule that requires accuracy and attention to detail. In addition, you will identify innovative solutions to enhance the processes and systems used in Assessment Measurement. This includes designing, developing, and testing new analysis and data processing routines for departmental use.
Responsibilities- A major part of this role involves carrying out statistical and data analysis to ensure our examinations provide valid and accurate results. This encompasses areas such as evaluating the performance of test materials, malpractice detection and examiner monitoring.
- The business has a strong process improvement culture to which the post holder will contribute through the development and/or testing of software to ensure optimum efficiency and efficacy of departmental processes.
- The post holder will also be required to provide technical support for ad-hoc data requests and to assist in research activities such as long-term educational development projects and the development of new analysis methods.
- Advise on appropriate and feasible analytics, and inferences that can be made from them.
With a degree that includes a strong quantitative component and analytical focus (or equivalent work experience), you will be skilled in managing and analysing large and complex data using computational statistical software and programming languages (e.g. R, Python, SAS).
As our next Senior Data Analyst, you will have experience in the designing and developing user-friendly data applications and statistical reports. You will be familiar with a range of quantitative research methods and statistical analysis procedures, ideally in the field of educational assessment and/or language testing.
In addition, you will demonstrate the ability to work under pressure, with strong prioritisation and time management skills. You will be capable of communicating complex concepts in a clear, accessible, and impactful manner, including writing reports for diverse stakeholders. More broadly, you will provide credible and effective recommendations to colleagues across the organization.
