Job Description

As a Senior Creative Label Analyst at Columbia Records UK, you will play a vital role in providing the label with data, insights and creative recommendations. Your primary responsibilities will be to analyze, interpret, and contextualise data related to artist streaming, social & community content, and wider market trends, in order to synthesise actionable insights to the label and key third parties. You will also be required to translate these insights into creative recommendations and optimisations to positively influence core metrics. You will also be responsible for shaping how insight & analytics are used across the label, and interfacing with central Sony teams to ensure the label's requirements are reflected in central tools & roadmaps.

What you'll do:
  • Use internal data systems to analyse the performance of the roster's tracks, content, and communities, as well as make recommendations for improvement
  • Work closely with the digital & marketing teams to plan and execute ongoing analysis of artist streaming, UGC / editorial content, and audience
  • Analyse, interpret, and present data to select third parties, including artist management & agencies
  • Analyse social trends and content globally, and their impact on streaming, community group engagement, and artist awareness
  • Develop models for pre-campaign forecasting of streaming volume, audience impact, and UGC volume
  • Lead on in-campaign reporting & recommendations for optimisations around social content and UGC strategy
  • Lead on post-campaign evaluation of artist KPIs and making recommendations for future optimisations
  • Support the A&R team by providing data driven insights on chosen emerging artists/potential signings.
  • Proactively identify & flag over-indexing growth of unsigned artists and tracks
  • Work with the central analytics team to develop best-in-class processes & reporting for Columbia
Who you are:
  • You will preferably have a background in data science and relevant experience as an Analyst within the entertainment or media sectors.
  • Music industry experience is preferred, but not required. You will be expected to be knowledgeable about how the music business operates and about the evolving digital landscape.
  • You have both an analytical and creative mindset, with the ability to identify trends in large datasets and display ingenuity in generating new ideas.
  • You have an intuitive knowledge of social media & content, and are comfortable generating creative content recommendations.
  • You are front-footed, with the ability to identify and solve problems proactively.
  • You are a detail-orientated, an excellent communicator, and enthusiastic collaborator within a team environment.
  • You will know Excel like the back of your hand (Pivot tables, VLookups, etc.).
  • You have extensive experience in PowerPoint and are comfortable presenting & communicating insights.
  • You have experience in data modelling, with modelling / data analytics / visualisation software (Tableau, QlikView, Looker, Alteryx, etc.).
  • You will understand the basics of SQL and have experience using and designing relational databases.
  • You have the ability to work with technical teams to define business requirements for automated reporting systems.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have experience managing multiple tasks at once with tight deadlines.
