Job Description

NES Fircroft is partnering with a construction industry leader on their energy transition journey, supporting the development of a CCS project in Wales.

The client is seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Manager to join the project on a contract basis. The role involves working on-site full-time, Monday to Friday. Successful candidates will receive competitive day rates and the opportunity to contribute to a flagship project advancing the UK's move towards cleaner energy.

Job Purpose:

The Contracts Manager (CM) will oversee the administration of the EPCM Contract and all works package contractor and supplier contracts. The CM will provide guidance on contractual matters, monitor contractual payments, variations, and claims during the execution of the EPCM Contract and Works Package Contracts. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring efficient administration of the EPCM Contract and related issues
  • Monitoring compliance with contractual obligations
  • Reviewing contractor payments and ensuring timely payments
  • Reporting on the contract and commercial status of the EPC Contract
  • Ensuring EPC and related insurances are in place
  • Reporting on the status of Works Package Contracts
  • Ensuring related insurances are provided to site management
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting compliance with EPCM and work package contracts
  • Providing guidance on contract provisions and scope
  • Minimizing variations and claims
  • Reviewing and advising on payment applications and milestones
  • Supporting review of variation proposals and orders
Qualifications & Experience:

The ideal CM will have at least 15 years of relevant experience managing large capital contracts in oil & gas, petrochemical, or energy sectors. They will also possess:

  • Strong knowledge of contract management principles
  • Analytical, negotiation, and team collaboration skills
  • Excellent listening and communication skills with high energy and commitment
  • A proactive attitude and resilience in challenging situations
  • Strong teamwork capabilities
