THE POSITIONTNEI's Connections team works with a variety of clients to provide consultancy services, primarily in the areas of power system analysis and grid connection studies, including load flow; fault level; dynamic G99/Grid Code compliance studies such as fault ride through, voltage control, and frequency response; power quality assessments including G5/5, EREC P28 and P29; insulation coordination studies; SSO Studies and EMT/RMS Model development. We also perform protection, earthing, and arc flash studies. We combine these skills to deliver comprehensive and leading-edge innovative solutions to our clients.
The Connections team has a strong existing workload with an extensive client base. We are looking for a full time Senior Consultant to join our team in Manchester or Glasgow.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:- Delivering projects to a high level of technical competency.
- Supporting the preparation of tenders, proposals and submissions.
- Undertaking project management responsibilities including project planning, resourcing, risk management and budgeting.
- Peer reviewing reports and other deliverables to ensure consistency, accuracy and that they meet clients' expectations.
Essential requirements include:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with 5+ years' relevant industry experience.
- Excellent technical skills and proven experience of carrying out power system analysis, especially transient and dynamic analysis, protection coordination or earthing design studies.
- Experience in the use of one or more of the following software packages: IPSA, DIgSILENT Power Factory, PSSE, PSCAD, CDEGS, XGS-Lab or SKM.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritise under pressure of deadlines, while working independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communications with both technical and non technical personnel.
- Experience of working in a consultancy environment.
- Capability in DPL, Python, or other modelling languages.
- Commercial awareness and pro active in seeking out new business opportunities.
