Your role

As a Senior Consultant, you will contribute to all phases of the consulting lifecycle. You will define problems, propose and refine solutions, develop, configure, and deploy overall solutions, guide teams on project processes, deliverables, and contribute to proposal development, client training, internal capability building, and detailing the project scope. You will shape value adding consulting solutions that enable clients to meet changing global needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Development - Configure and manage IBM DataPower appliances for API Gateway, XML Firewall, and Web Service Proxy.
• Develop and deploy policies for authentication, authorization, encryption, and traffic management.
• Implement SSL/TLS configurations, certificates, and secure communication channels.
• Integration & API Management - Integrate DataPower with API Connect, MQ, and backend services; support REST, SOAP, and other protocols for secure data exchange.
• Performance & Security - Monitor and optimize gateway performance, throughput, and latency; apply security best practices, including OAuth, JWT, and LDAP integration.
• Troubleshooting & Support - Diagnose and resolve issues related to DataPower configurations and deployments; provide Level 2/3 support for production environments.
• Documentation & Compliance - Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, policies, and operational procedures; ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory security standards.

Skills & Experience

• Hands on experience with IBM DataPower Gateway (XI52, IDG, or virtual editions)
• Strong understanding of networking, SSL/TLS, and cryptographic concepts
• Proficiency in XML, XSLT, XPath, JSON, and scripting (CLI, SOMA, REST APIs)
• Familiarity with API Connect, IBM MQ, and enterprise integration patterns
• Experience with OAuth 2.0, JWT, LDAP, and SAML

Preferred

• IBM Certified Solution Developer - DataPower Gateway
• Experience with cloud deployments (AWS, Azure, or hybrid environments)
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) for DataPower
• Required travel to Leeds
