Our client is looking for an experienced Computer Vision Engineer to join their growing team in Dublin. They are an innovative technology company developing market-disrupting sensor solutions that help road authorities, infrastructure operators, and mobility stakeholders assess the readiness of road networks for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, semi-autonomous, and autonomous vehicles.

The RoleAs a Senior Computer Vision Engineer, you will play a key role in the research, development, optimisation, and deployment of advanced computer vision algorithms for road asset measurement and infrastructure assessment applications.
Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will contribute to both current product development and next-generation technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Research and evaluate emerging computer vision technologies, methodologies, and industry trends.
- Design, develop, benchmark, test, and document state-of-the-art computer vision algorithms for road network asset measurement applications.
- Analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues, contributing to system improvements and architectural redesign where required.
- Participate in technical and design reviews across algorithm and engineering teams.
- Support intellectual property activities, including the preparation of invention disclosures and patent-related documentation.
- Develop algorithms with consideration for deployment on embedded and edge-computing platforms.
- Identify opportunities for next-generation products, algorithms, and new business applications.
- Ensure compliance with internal development procedures, quality standards, and engineering processes.
- Represent the company at industry forums, working groups, conferences, and technical events as required.
- Support the development and delivery of internal technical training in your area of expertise.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with academic and research institutions.
- Drive continuous improvement in computer vision methodologies, software development practices, and engineering processes.
- Contribute to technical discussions and communications with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Gain a deep understanding of the existing platform, codebase, and technology stack, proactively identifying opportunities for enhancement.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate AI and machine learning technologies to enhance products and development processes.
- Bachelor's degree with 8+ years' industry experience, or Master's degree with 4+ years' industry experience in Computer Vision, Image Processing, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of computer vision principles and algorithms applied to real-world environments. Experience in road infrastructure, transportation, mapping, surveying, robotics, or autonomous systems is highly desirable.
- Advanced C++ programming skills with a focus on performance, reliability, maintainability, and clean code practices.
- Proficiency in Python and/or MATLAB for algorithm prototyping, testing, automation, and data analysis.
- Experience with industry-standard computer vision libraries such as OpenCV.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies, coding standards, and best practices.
- Experience with source control systems, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and collaborative software development environments.
- Knowledge of AI, machine learning, and deep learning techniques relevant to computer vision applications.
- Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with exceptional attention to detail.

- Embedded vision systems and edge AI deployment.
- 3D vision, photogrammetry, LiDAR, or sensor fusion technologies.

Permanent role in Dublin South, D6W. The role is on site, but flexible hours.
