An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Department of Rheumatology at University College London Hospital (UCLH) as a Clinical Fellow for haemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) Service (ST4+). The position will be available from 1st October 2026 onwards for a 12-month period.
Main duties of the jobThis is a post created to support the clinical and research aims of the UCLH HLH team, a novel, cross-speciality service which cares for patients with hyperinflammatory syndromes including haemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH). This will include participating in the co-ordination of the HLH MDT meetings, minute taking and HLH service development.
The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the general rheumatology service - seeing rheumatology out-patients and in-patients, and taking part in the rheumatology registrar out of hours on call rota.
The final composition of the post timetable will be agreed in discussion with the Clinical Lead overseen by the Divisional Clinical Director.

Person Specification Knowledge and Qualifications- Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment and hold a current licence to practise
- Working at local appointment grade code MT04/05 (ST4+ equivalent)
- For MTO5 appointment, applicants should have at least 6 years clinical experience post-registration
- Rheumatology training number
- MRCP
- Completion of SCE in Rheumatology
- Experience in managing acute rheumatology inpatients
- Experience in running general rheumatology outpatients
- Track record of clinical governance, audit, management and IT skills
- Experience in managing patients with HLH
- Accountability; ability to take responsibility, lead, make decisions and exert appropriate authority. Interpersonal Skills
- Ability to see patients as people, ability to empathise and work co-operatively with others.
- Track record of research, publications/ understanding / knowledge of Research ethics
- Demonstratable understanding of the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion and/or Knowledge of the NHS obligations under the Equality Act 2010 and the Public Sector Equality Duties
