I'm working with a top-tier consultancy looking to appoint an experienced Senior Claims / Commercial Manager to join their team on a major energy project in London. This is a critical role on a complex scheme that is approaching distressed project status - and they are seeking a senior-level operator who can bring clarity, structure, and strategic direction to the commercial position.

The successful candidate will need to be a self-starter, capable of working independently, with a strong background in managing claims and navigating complex dispute scenarios. FIDIC contract experience is essential, and any exposure to the Silver Book will be particularly valuable.

This role will suit a confident, technically strong individual who enjoys untangling issues, advising clients, and ensuring their commercial position is protected.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead claims preparation and manage dispute resolution strategies
• Advise and support the client in mitigating commercial risk
• Review and interpret complex contract documentation (FIDIC, particularly Silver Book)
• Develop robust commercial positions on a live project
• Interface with legal teams, external advisors, and senior stakeholders
• Support contract negotiations and ongoing project delivery from a commercial perspective

Ideal Candidate:

• Extensive experience in claims management and dispute resolution on major infrastructure or energy projects
• Strong working knowledge of FIDIC contracts (Silver Book highly desirable)
• Capable of working under pressure and providing strategic advice at a senior level
• Comfortable working independently in a client-side role
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
