A well-established UK civil engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Civil Engineer on a contract basis to support a growing workload of residential development projects.

This role suits an experienced roads and drainage engineer who can operate with a high degree of autonomy while working collaboratively within a design-led consultancy environment.

• Lead the highways and drainage design for residential developments
• Deliver work from feasibility and planning through to detailed design and construction support
• Prepare and review technical drawings, calculations and reports
• Manage and coordinate S38, S278, S104 and S106 approvals
• Liaise directly with local authorities, water companies and project stakeholders
• Provide technical input and oversight to junior engineers and technicians

• Strong background as a Senior Civil Engineer within a consultancy environment
• Proven experience delivering residential infrastructure schemes
• Excellent working knowledge of roads and drainage design
• Confident managing technical approvals and external stakeholders
• Able to work on a hybrid basis, combining office and remote working

• Contract position
• Hybrid working (Newcastle-based office)
• Immediate or short-notice availability preferred
• Competitive contract rate, dependent on experience
