An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a part-time Senior Children's Services Administrator covering the Business Support Team in the Childrens Front Door which includes the Safeguarding Hub, Early Help Hub and Childrens Emergency Duty Team.

The role presents a unique opportunity to join an ambitious service in a key role working towards excellence for children, young people and their families. A child's journey starts at the Front door and it is critical that children and families receive the highest standard of service from the first contact and that record keeping is accurate and up to date. The service tracks all activity and relies on performance reporting to continue to drive improvement.

The Business Support Team provides essential support to the Hubs ensuring that the service continues to offer a quality and timely response. This includes managing telephone calls and uploading information to the recording system to enable Advanced Social Work Practitioners to complete their safeguarding enquiries, and ensuring professionals and families are updated regarding the outcome of contact with the children's Front door. Alongside this the senior will support your team to meet the day to day demand. You will also be required to support Team Managers with performance reporting. The service is based in County Hall, Beverley, however there are flexible working arrangements available, whilst ensuring the needs of the service is prioritised.

The Right Candidate

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and committed to providing a quality service, have a flexible approach and the ability to adapt to a changing environment. To undertake this role successfully you need to be customer focused, able to work easily within a challenging environment, have excellent administrative and organisational skills and have the motivation and desire to achieve a high quality service. You should be able to demonstrate effective use of a range of ICT systems/software packages.

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written are essential as this role is often the first point of contact for parents, professionals and the public.

You will have line management experience as you will have responsibility for administrators based within the Safeguarding, Assessment & Partnerships Hub who are also based in County Hall, Beverley.

A high level of customer service is required as is the ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with sensitive material. Teamwork plays a vital role as does the ability to meet deadlines and work on your own initiative.

You will be expected to ensure administrative processes are carried out accurately and efficiently by checking, verifying and authorising processes and provide reports on data and information for operational staff.

Our Model

You can, I can, We can

We have created a bespoke practice model that reflects and connects our vision, our value base and our behaviour as one East Riding of Yorkshire approach to working with children, young people and their families, which is nurtured and grown from within East Riding of Yorkshire CYPSSS and owned by our workforce.

We remain committed to Signs of Safety as a practice framework, but this will be set within a much wider, values based, model of practice that clearly connects Signs of Safety much more clearly with the East Riding value base, and our overall approach to making and sustaining relationships with children, families and communities.

Without a well embedded model, there is nothing to centre our practice on to ensure that, while the work may be different, all of our teams are grounded in the same values, beliefs, theories and approaches. Having a well-developed practice model helps to create a common language for the service and enables everyone to understand how we go about doing the right things, in the right way and for the right reasons for children and their families.

This is a great opportunity to have an insight into the service area and the invaluable support we provide for families in the East Riding. The role is for 18.5 hours per week working on a 2 day, 3 day week rota. If you wish to discuss or would like more information, please contact either Francesca or Sarah via email.
