Job Overview

Make a Difference in a Young Person's Life! Our home, located in Thornton, accommodates up to four young people aged 8 to 18. We offer a nurturing and supportive environment, committed to helping young people develop essential life skills.

Location

Thornton, near Thornton Road, with regular bus services. Limited on site parking. Good links to Bradford city centre, Halifax city centre and the local high street.

The Role

Under the supervision of the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager, you will lead the provision of a care service for children and young people that meets the Children's Homes Regulations, Children's Homes Quality Standards and BCFT and the home's internal policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead by example and enable staff to support children and young people by embracing Bradford's 'Model of Care'.
  • Provide care and support in a warm, safe and nurturing environment.
  • Help young people feel loved, cared for and appreciated, fostering self belief, confidence and a can do attitude.
  • Support young people in reaching their full potential and exceeding expectations.
  • Work with children who may exhibit challenging behaviours, creating a positive and supportive atmosphere.
  • Supervise staff, including deployment, allocation of tasks and professional development.
  • Complete risk assessments and risk analysis of vulnerable young people to ensure appropriate and safe risk management plans are in place.
Essential Qualifications
  • Experience as a qualified Residential Practitioner in a Children's Home.
  • Experience working in a challenging, changing environment.
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred).
  • GCSE Grade A-C in Maths and English or equivalent.
  • Level3 Diploma in Residential Child Care or equivalent (Level3 Children & Youth Peoples Workforce Diploma with social care pathway, NVQ3 caring for children & young people, NVQ3 health & social care).
