We are seeking Category Managers for our locations and affiliate companies in India. The ideal candidate is smart, enthusiastic, hardworking, and creative, ready to join our team as a Category Manager - Sourcing. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a start-up business team.
Responsibilities- Be the business owner responsible for signing the right mix of vendors, adding unique local selections, driving margin improvements, and delivering a top-notch customer experience.
- Effectively lead and communicate with key partners and vendors, as well as internal teams.
- Demonstrate strong business judgment, ownership, and relationship management skills.
- Background in business, buying, or finance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven negotiation, influencing, and relationship management skills.
- Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects.
- Ability to thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
- Good organizational skills including prioritization, scheduling, and meeting deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with technical aptitude and agility to learn web-based tools.
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in account management or vendor management roles preferred.
The ideal candidate is innovative, team-oriented, an effective communicator, and adaptable to change. A demonstrated history of project ownership and leveraging customer data to identify opportunities is essential. A passion for e-commerce is highly desirable. The position is based in Bangalore.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 5+ years of experience with Excel.
- 5+ years in account management, project or program management, or buying.
- Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of professional or military experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Access or SQL.
- Experience using data to influence business decisions.
- Experience driving cross-team collaboration.
- Experience with business analysis and P&L management.
- Experience aligning and driving direction across cross-functional teams.
