About the Role - Category Manager Sourcing

We are seeking Category Managers for our locations and affiliate companies in India. The ideal candidate is smart, enthusiastic, hardworking, and creative, ready to join our team as a Category Manager - Sourcing. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a start-up business team.

Responsibilities
  • Be the business owner responsible for signing the right mix of vendors, adding unique local selections, driving margin improvements, and delivering a top-notch customer experience.
  • Effectively lead and communicate with key partners and vendors, as well as internal teams.
  • Demonstrate strong business judgment, ownership, and relationship management skills.
Eligibility Criteria
  • Background in business, buying, or finance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven negotiation, influencing, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
  • Good organizational skills including prioritization, scheduling, and meeting deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with technical aptitude and agility to learn web-based tools.
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in account management or vendor management roles preferred.

The ideal candidate is innovative, team-oriented, an effective communicator, and adaptable to change. A demonstrated history of project ownership and leveraging customer data to identify opportunities is essential. A passion for e-commerce is highly desirable. The position is based in Bangalore.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of experience with Excel.
  • 5+ years in account management, project or program management, or buying.
  • Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of professional or military experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access or SQL.
  • Experience using data to influence business decisions.
  • Experience driving cross-team collaboration.
  • Experience with business analysis and P&L management.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience aligning and driving direction across cross-functional teams.
