Our client is a large organisation within the FMCG industry. With a global presence and a team of dedicated professionals, they are known for their commitment to quality and sustainability. There are multiple sites across the UK, and the role will involve some UK travel.

Job Description

As a Senior Procurement Manager / Category Manager, you will be responsible for the commercial aspects, category management, and overall supplier performance for services purchased. You will take a strategic category view to manage areas of spend, identify savings opportunities, and build strong stakeholder relationships.

Key responsibilities:

1. Develop and execute innovative procurement strategies.
2. Manage the entire process in the planning of procurement and supply chain activities.
3. Conduct regular market analysis and supplier audits to ensure the best quality and cost efficiency.
4. Implement procurement initiatives within the FMCG industry.
5. Manage and develop a high-performing team.
6. Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes.
7. Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policy and legal regulations.
8. Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods and timely delivery.
9. Operate effectively in a complex multi-site environment.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will have experience managing multiple categories within a fast-paced FMCG environment across various locations.

• Proven experience in a procurement role within the FMCG industry.
• Degree or equivalent with a proven track record in end-to-end, indirect procurement / category management.
• Strong knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques.
• Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Strong leadership abilities and experience managing large-scale projects.
• Experience handling high-value categories with spend of £40 million or more.
• Experience working across technical categories or with agencies handling high volume/high spend.

Candidates with backgrounds in FMCG, Consumer, or Pharmaceutical sectors are encouraged to apply.
