Job Description
About the role

Please note: This role is full time 44hrs per week. Flexibility to cover both days and nights is essential.

As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. It touches upon every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. Every single person who works here understands that our residents are people just like them with their own stories to tell. By joining us, you'll have a wonderful opportunity to give something back to those people.

Your responsibilities include planning and implementing care that gives our residents a real sense of security, dignity and independence. You will get to know our residents and their families, helping to ensure we deliver truly personalised care plans. Leading a team of Care Assistants, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of care and you'll influence the rest of the team. Whether you are showing someone how to use a walking frame, helping someone at the end of their life to eat a meal or talking to a resident's family on the phone, you'll do so with kindness, above everything else. Assisting the Registered Nurse and Care Manager, you will provide essential physical and mental stimulation through a range of social and recreational activities, and administer medication. One of your key responsibilities is to maintain accurate records and build strong relationships with the rest of your team.

Qualities and experience you should have: ideally you have completed a Level 2 Diploma (S/NVQ) in Adult Social Care and are prepared to work towards a Level 3 qualification or equivalent. Background in person-centred care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia is desirable. What's essential is your positive energy and natural ability to get along with people, good record keeping, time management and considerate communication.

About HC-One

At HC-One, kindness is more than a word. It is a belief that caring for people means caring about what matters most to them so we can support them to lead their best possible life. We champion inclusivity, fostering a workplace where everyone feels valued and can be themselves. Our diverse and inclusive workforce allows us to learn from each other and better represent the communities we serve. The 5 qualities that the HC-One team supports are curiosity, compassion, creativity, courage and reliability.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility in adult social care. You should be able to recognise signs of abuse, harm or neglect, know what to do if there are concerns, attend safeguarding training appropriate to your role and undertake additional training in associated areas. You have the ability to seek appropriate advice, report concerns and, if necessary, escalated action.

Training and benefits

We'll provide full training, so it's a great opportunity to learn something new. In return, you will enjoy access to a huge variety of benefits and services to support your physical and psychological well being throughout your career as a Senior Care Assistant.
