Seeking a Senior Buyer/Purchasing Manager to join an organisation located in Newhaven. This role offers a fantastic chance to contribute to the company's success by overseeing direct procurement of raw materials and supporting broader category management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for raw materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and compliance with industry standards.
• Collaborate with central purchasing, negotiate supplier contracts, and build strong supplier relationships.
• Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and sourcing innovations to stay ahead.
• Lead and mentor the purchasing team, setting goals and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Manage supply chain efficiency through supplier performance evaluation, risk mitigation, and inventory oversight.

Person Specification

• Prior experience in purchasing or procurement
• Proven ability to mentor or supervise a team effectively
• Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
• Excellent communication skills, confident in engaging with individuals at all organisational levels in a professional manner

Salary and Location

Up to £40k

This position requires full on-site presence
