About Our Client

My client is a highly successful manufacturer based in Scunthorpe. They are looking for a Senior Buyer to join the team and support their growth plans for 2025 and beyond. They have a small but robust team and they produce an exceptional range of products for their large customer base, both across the UK and internationally.

Job Description

  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with internal teams to maintain availability.
  • Liaise with suppliers to negotiate terms, pricing, and lead times.
  • Assist with supplier performance reviews and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Conducting market research to identify new potential suppliers and products.
  • Evaluating and managing risks related to supply contracts.
  • Support cost control and budget adherence for procurement spend.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes.
  • Lead regular cost savings initiatives.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Buyer should have:

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • In-depth understanding of procurement processes and contract management.
  • Good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Experience managing large annual spends and leading cost savings initiatives.
