Senior Building Maintenance Officer
Location: Pembrokeshire
Our Building Maintenance Team is expanding, and with a growing pipeline of exciting new work, this is a brilliant time to join Pembrokeshire County Council. Following the promotion of the current postholder, we are looking for a motivated and skilled individual to step into the role of Senior Building Maintenance Officer and make a real impact within a dynamic and forward thinking service.
The Building Maintenance department is a busy, varied and wide ranging service within the Housing and Social Care directorate. We manage maintenance, servicing, refurbishment and upgrade projects across an extensive and diverse portfolio including council housing, schools, public buildings and historic assets. With significant new work on the horizon, the successful candidate will be joining at a genuinely exciting moment for the team.
We are appointing to this full time, permanent role and will fully support you as you take ownership of your key responsibilities. We are also committed to helping you grow and progress your career with us as the department continues to develop.
We are looking for someone with strong experience in the design and specification of maintenance, improvement and refurbishment works across a varied property portfolio. You will have a thorough understanding of both traditional and modern building pathology and construction technology, hold a degree in a surveying or construction related field, have proven post qualification experience within a construction or maintenance environment and hold or be working towards Chartered status (MRICS, MCABE or MCIOB).
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, under the leadership of the Building Maintenance Corporate Manager and the Building Maintenance Programme Manager, delivering and managing a wide range of maintenance, refurbishment and construction projects from inception to completion. With the department expanding and new projects moving forward, this is an excellent opportunity to help shape our future service.
