Main duties of the jobWe are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to apply for an exciting opportunity to manage the procurement and stock control of Medicines in Aseptic services. The role as a Senior Administration and Clerical Technical Officer will include responsibilities across the UHNM Pharmacy Procurement team and Aseptic department. The Aseptic department prepares and manufactures a variety of medicines including chemotherapy for direct administration for patients.
We are looking for someone who is able to show initiative; is helpful and approachable; organised and can work accurately; good IT skills, problem solving and communication skills.
The post will be a 50/50 split between the Pharmacy Procurement team and Aseptic services department. You will support the medicines procurement functions, including ordering, invoicing and to-follows. It is a requirement to liaise with suppliers to support the timely purchasing of medicines and follow up any outstanding orders. This post will also be involved with the stock management of materials used for the preparation of Aseptic medicines. You will not be required to participate in the preparation and manufacture of these items.

- NVQ2 in Pharmaceutical Services, or be willing to work towards and successfully complete this.
- NVQ Business administration or equivalent relevant qualification
- Knowledge of administrative procedures including processing orders and invoices, filing and answering the telephone
- Advanced keyboard skills and ability to produce and manipulate spread sheets.
- At least 2 years' experience in a similar role.
- Ability to work unsupervised and alone within departmental guidelines/SOPs.
- Know when to escalate for guidance on technical matters
- Previous experience of dealing with customers and difficult queries.
- Previous experience with invoice / credit processing and working with finance issues.
- Previous experience of working within a pharmacy setting.
- Ability to work unsupervised, alone and act on own initiative where appropriate.
- Ability to build good working relationships with colleagues.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic
- Honest and trustworthy and able to maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
