Senior ATO - Pharmacy Repackaging and Overlabelling Unit

The Technical Services department within pharmacy opened in September 2012 and holds an MHRA 'Specials' manufacturing licence. The service encompasses aseptic, chemotherapy, non-sterile and pre-pack labelling and repackaging of medicines. The Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) department support the MHRA licence and also provide Quality Control support in regard to the preparation of radio pharmaceuticals for the Trust
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self motivated senior assistant technical officer to work with our team in technical services.
The successful person will work within our repackaging and overlabelling unit and will be required to set up and prepare medicines made within Pharmacy Technical Services. The post holder will be expected to understand and follow standard operating procedures.
In addition the post holder will be required to assist with the operation and maintenance of quality systems ensuring compliance with the terms of the MHRA Manufacturing "Specials" Licence in regards to all compounding and manufacturing processes.
The employee will be supported with external and internal training in pharmacy services and associated technical activities where required.

Person Specification Essential Qualifications- 4 GCSEs grade C/4 or above or equivalent must include Maths, English and Science And NVQ Level 2 in pharmacy services
- NVQ Level 2 in pharmacy services OR equivalent relevant qualification to area of speciality AND willingness to work towards NVQ L2 in pharmacy services or equivalent training
- A Levels / Degree level education in science related field
- Experience of following standard working instructions/procedures
- Experience of stock control
- Ability to investigate queries, taking action if appropriate
- Ability to work unsupervised and alone
- At least 1 years' previous experience in a similar role
- Experience of good manufacturing practice
